Fish fry..............

Ok so flyers went up today and people are excited and that's all good. But this blog is going to be used to tell everyone, TOURNAMENT IS NOW STARTING AT 8am!!!!!!!!! Everything else is the same. Its still at Croft State Park in Pauline at Lake Craig on April, 17 2010. Still ends at 1pm also. PLEASE COME!!!!!!!

Ok for this week advertising has been in full swing. There's an event notification on facebook and from the looks of it not many people are coming. I also have a design for flyers I just need to go print out at kinko's. Also, when we get back from adventure week and spring break, Ill make some announcements and other stuff.

Stronger bait.......

Ok so this week advertising will go into full swing and I'm currently working on the logo for the T-shirts/flyers.

For those of you interested in fishing, Here are the prices and what you could win.

The Tournament is on April 17, from 7 AM until 12, with prize giving and lunch from 12-1.

You can come at whatever time you want, but it starts a 7 and you will just have to jump in late.

For Adults (18+) its $18 plus they'll charge you $2 at the gate. YOU WILL NEED A FRESHWATER FISHING LICENSE! This is not optional. If you don't have one you pay the fine, not me. They're $10 at Walmart, Dick's, or any other store that offers fishing supplies.

For Children/Oakbrook Students, it's $8 plus $2 at the gate. If you're 16+, YOU WILL NEED A FRESHWATER FISHING LICENSE! This is not optional. If you don't have one you pay the fine, not me. They're $10 at Walmart, Dick's, or any other store that offers fishing supplies. If you're under 16, bring a parent please. This is only optional if you can legally drive yourself to the lake.

1st place is heaviest largemouth bass. Winner gets $100 plus some pretty cool extra goodies.

2nd place is 2nd heaviest bass. Runner-up gets $50 plus a few goodies.

3rd place is 3rd heaviest. Third gets $25 dollars.

Everyone who comes will get a goodie bag and the knowledge they gave to those in need.

Well this week I have started to brainstorm ways to advertise for my tournament. I've come up with flyers, T-shirts, Facebook, this blog, Chapel announcement, word of mouth, sign up sheets, outdoors club announcement, morning announcements, and that's about it.

Any more ideas? I'm all ears.

So this past week I have gotten another sponsor, this time for 50 bucks. So that will cover second place! Alright!

The waiting game....

If any of you readers(if there are any) out there are familiar with Fail blog, I have to say that this past week has a been a FAIL. Basically, everything that could go wrong went wrong, and the best grade I can come out of the class with is a 72 or something, if I pass at all. After all of the work I've put in I feel a little gypped.

But, the actual tournament(which I've come to discover doesn't have much to do with my success in the class) is going very well, and I'm waiting on responses from the dozens of sponsorship invitations that were sent out.

The third cast......

Well for this week it has all been sponsor related stuff. I've sent out an email to every business I can think of that might be interested in sponsoring. So I've got an enormous list of possible sponsors and I'm excited to see what we might be able to do with a massive amount of funds. My challenge will be to be prudent with the money and use it effectively. Stay tuned.

Snagged on the bottom.............

Well, at this point in the year I'm glad I've made the progress I have but I think my eyes have strayed from the prize. This past week has been kinda weird with everything but I guess you're not here to read about that.

What I feel like right now is I'm just flat out of enthusiasm and ideas, and it's bothering me. Basically I'm in a slump. Heh, I guess I shouldn't let other things get in the way of my project. I wish I could give you a positive but, well there isn't one right now. Next week could be different, and last week sure was better. This week has just been a void. A black hole and I accomplished nothing. I've began to question my direction in this whole thing. What is it that I don't see? Maybe you know, if you do, I'm all ears.

I could ramble more, but this sums up how I feel........

Back in the boathouse......

For this week, I have worked on getting a person who will do T-shirts and have found someone I know who will give me a pretty good deal. Also, I've recruited some volunteers in my family and gotten a few good ideas. That's about it.

Now that my research paper is complete, I can move into a new threshold in my project. Since August, I have watched my shadow of a thought turn into a solid half completed project with a research paper, a location, and money in the bank. Now I just have to stay persistent and finish strong.
